Paris Fashion Week took over the city from January 16 to 21. For the occasion, numerous houses took advantage of the Parisian catwalk to reveal unprecedented and promising collaborations that will expand the 2024 line-up of our favorite brands. Here is a look back at the upcoming collaborations announced for 2024.
Timberland's Yellow Boots Get the Louis Vuitton Treatment
Since his appointment as Men's Creative Director, Pharrell Williams was the most anticipated designer of this Fashion Week. After a debut show held on the historic Pont-Neuf in Paris, it was the Jardin d'Acclimatation that served as the setting for a staging steeped in the mythical imagery of the American West. Transcending western codes, the collection sketched a new take on the Far West aesthetic. But that is not all: Pharrell Williams also took the opportunity to unveil his upcoming collaboration with Timberland's iconic silhouette.
Mustard tint, two-tone laces and a lugged sole, the shoe revealed itself with a recognizable silhouette we know well. However, the Parisian house gave it a haute couture design by adding its iconic monogram. Beyond this pair, a full collection was unveiled, featuring several variations of the Timberland 6 Inch Premium Boot and other well-known models from the brand.
This collaboration between Louis Vuitton and Timberland, organized under the creative direction of Pharrell Williams, promises a new blend of prestige and outdoor spirit. For those interested, the pairs are expected to arrive by the end of 2024. Louis Vuitton quality being what it is, the price of each design could be on the higher side.
Comme des Garcons, the Star of Collaborations
We can always count on Rei Kawakubo's label to unveil a new collaboration on the runway. Hold on, because the label has planned not one, but three partnerships with different brands, including its most prominent collaborator: Nike. After numerous successful collaborations, Comme des Garcons is set to bring its creative vision to the Nike Air Max TL 2.5 from 2006. For the occasion, the pair makes its comeback from the archives with three minimalist designs true to the CDG imprint. A solid execution that we look forward to seeing arrive later this year.
Alongside the Swoosh, the Japanese label will also bring its minimalist identity to the Boston-based brand. After working on the 1906R model, the 550 and the 580, it is now the New Balance 860v2's turn to bear the CDG signature. On the agenda, a classic palette for the two pairs planned for this fall.
Finally, Rei Kawakubo's empire will also team up with Hoka, offering a new vision of the daily running silhouette. Retaining its original tooling, the Comme des Garcons x Hoka TC 1.0 follows a signature CDG scheme. No further details have been disclosed, but more information should surface in the coming months.
Junya Watanabe and Auralee Reinvent New Balance
Casual chic or sportswear? Why choose when Junya Watanabe offers a pair combining both styles. For his FW24 collection, the legendary designer created a surprise by revealing what is undoubtedly his most daring contribution to date. And while merging a loafer with a sneaker is uncharted territory, Junya Watanabe showed boldness by combining the cushioning of the New Balance 1906R with a leather loafer upper. The result? A compelling, captivating and versatile model that is already dividing the sneaker world. So, mission accomplished? The answer will come this fall when the Junya Watanabe x New Balance 1906 Loafer launches in two colorways.

Meanwhile, Ryota Iwai, the founder of Auralee, showcased his work while teasing his upcoming collaborative projects with the Boston-based brand. After two New Balance 1906R releases last November, the Japanese label now takes on the New Balance 990v4. An opportunity to discover two colorway options that align with Auralee's aesthetic approach and stay true to the designs of previous collaborations.
A Ma Maniere's DNA Spotted on the Streets of Paris
While Fashion Week focuses all attention on the catwalk, there were also exciting reveals taking place within the City of Light itself, starting with A Ma Maniere, which offered a first look at its next chapter with Jordan. Its founder, James Whitner, seized the opportunity to showcase an exclusive preview of his upcoming Air Jordan 4 Phantom. Spotted on his feet, the pair will once again embody the label's essence with a monochromatic lilac tint and what appears to be a suede upper. A rather washed-out silhouette reminiscent of the "Violet Ore" version. For now, details remain scarce, but the pair is expected for fall 2024.

On the Swoosh side, James Whitner and his team have a few more surprises in store, as an Air Max 95 bearing the A Ma Maniere branding was spotted by Sneaker Freaker. Continuing with a familiar palette, it is now up to the label's creative team to restart the creative engine and bring the Air Max 95 into a new era. No additional information has been disclosed, but this is one to watch.
