adidas and Puma, a merger to come?

Two rival brothers soon to be reunited? The rumor of a possible merger between the three-stripe brand and Puma stirred the markets last Tuesday. Result: Puma stock jumped 4.2%, reaching its highest level in two weeks, while adidas stock slightly declined by 1%. The source of this agitation? Comments from an investor during an interview discussing the feasibility of such a merger. A scenario that is all the more intriguing since the arrival of Arthur Hold at the head of Puma in early July, who previously sat on the board of the German brand. For now, neither Herzogenaurach on the Puma side nor adidas has wished to comment on this rumor which, if confirmed, could mark a historic turning point in the sportswear industry.
The Swoosh shows the way with SNKRS Map
What if it was possible to spot sneaker shops around you at a glance? This is exactly what the Swoosh offers with SNKRS Map, a new feature designed to bring sneaker enthusiasts closer to their favorite addresses. Integrated directly into the app, the interactive map highlights specialized and authorized partner stores, while providing access to their practical information: hours, contacts, social media. More than just a directory, the tool encourages the discovery of new local addresses and promises to showcase events, activations, and drops organized in-store. With SNKRS Map, the sportswear brand aims to strengthen the role of stores as a cornerstone of sneaker culture and create a natural bridge between digital navigation and physical experience.
The wardrobe of beautiful play, signed Rains and Umbro
When the minimalist aesthetic of Rains meets Umbro's football heritage, it results in “Apply Pressure”, a limited edition collection that shakes up the codes of the sports wardrobe. From the Drill top to the Apollo suit to the Fusion, each piece reinvents itself to play a new match. Textured waterproof materials. Anti-UV layers. Discreet stripes. No doubt: each piece reflects the meeting of the two universes, between performance and pure design. A collaboration that makes football a matter of style as much as of play to be discovered on September 23 on the Rains website, in stores worldwide, or at select retailers.
Kaws as the first artist in residence at Uniqlo
Uniqlo honors art. The Japanese brand announces that KAWS becomes its very first artist in residence. The contemporary art icon will participate in the “Art For All” program through events in the brand's largest stores. KAWS does not just create experiences: he will also be involved in the development of future LifeWear collections, with a first release scheduled for fall/winter 2025. A collaboration that extends a long-standing relationship and affirms Uniqlo's ambition: to make art accessible to all.
