You couldn't have missed them, the Big Red Boots caused a sensation at the start of 2023! And for good reason, these shoes with a design straight out of a cartoon are not common in the streetwear world. That's precisely how MSCHF stands out in the industry, by breaking conventions and offering bold, daring products. This week, during Paris Fashion Week Men's, the designers didn't hesitate to showcase their latest inspirations and announced the trends for 2024. It was ultimately a collaboration between MSCHF and Crocs spotted on artist Tommy Cash at the Rick Owens show in Paris that generated strong reactions online, with an imposing pair in a flashy colorway. Here's a sneak peek at what could be the little sister of the MSCHF Big Red Boot!
Crocs x MSCHF "Big Yellow Boot"
This extravagant pair, inspired by the manga Astro Boy, is made from TPU, with EVA foam used for the outsole. For this iteration, Crocs and MSCHF chose a bright shade that doesn't go unnoticed, with a hybrid design halfway between the Big Red Boot and a Crocs Clog. Indeed, the appearance of what could be called the "Big Yellow Boot" takes on the iconic Crocs clog characteristics such as the holes on top of the upper and the strap at the heel where the co-branding appears.
If there were any doubts about this collaboration, MSCHF finally confirmed that this extravagant shoe was indeed manufactured by the Brooklyn-based label, in the same factory as the first red version.
The Crocs x MSCHF "Big Yellow Boot" will release on August 9, 2023 via a 24-hour raffle on mschf.com at a price around 450 euros.
