In 2012, New Balance launched the 2040, a silhouette designed to showcase the capabilities of its American factories. Fourteen years and four generations later, the brand is reviving the model with a 2040v5 that now joins its Made in USA lineup.
For this new version, the creative teams in Boston have pushed the construction work further. Over 43 components are used in its assembly, featuring a leather upper that combines different shades of gray. The sole incorporates several of the brand's technologies with FuelCell, Abzorb SBS, and ENCAP, while a carbon fiber plate completes the package.

“Every detail has been evaluated from the perspective of craftsmanship, performance, and material integrity,” explains Brian Lynn, global vice president of lifestyle products at New Balance. This approach places the 2040v5 among the most ambitious constructions in the Made in USA range, featuring premium materials and a design focused on performance.
