The heat is on its way. The perfect opportunity for Stussy to ride the wave of waterproof summer apparel by calling on one of its most frequent collaborators: Nike. While Shawn Stussy was announcing his comeback on the fashion scene, the founder of the California brand is back to preview his upcoming collaboration with the Swoosh. In a new teaser directed by Morgan Maassen and Charlie McHarg, the two partners reveal a collaborative capsule of surf apparel.
Bridging land and sea, the collection offers a blend of UV-resistant swimwear, jogger sets, and breathable jackets, all in Stussy's relaxed cuts. Each piece is crafted from technical fabrics suited to changing weather. Lightweight linen. Warm fleece. Open-weave mesh. The collection draws from California roots and fuses them with some of Nike's high-performance innovations. On the menu: over twenty refined pieces that embody the surf spirit, whether on the beach or in the ocean.
The Nike LD-1000 Returns to Make Waves This Summer
But that's not all. Stussy and Nike have teamed up to collaborate on the elusive LD-1000, a vintage running shoe from the Swoosh's catalog. First launched in the late 1970s, the pair is back with two new distinct colorways: one in green and the other in blue. And while Shawn Stussy and his teams preserve the shoe's iconic waffle sole, the pair gets a few touches of freshness with black details that include an embroidered Swoosh and a leather piece. Finally, the creative teams don't forget the co-brandings with lettering unique to the Laguna Beach label along with a signature Swoosh.
Nike and Stussy have always offered striking reinterpretations of classic models through their collaborations, from the Nike Air Force 1 Mid to the Nike Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2. Each partnership has introduced a unique touch. Continuing this tradition, the two giants have unveiled a few additional colorways that should make more waves later this year. While we wait for further details, the Stussy x Nike Sumswear collection will be available on SNKRS on July 19th. Be warned, you'll need to be quick!
