If the Astroworld rapper started 2022 in a bad position following the tragic events of the festival that compromised many of his planned collaborations for 2022, he now seems to be making a stunning comeback. Indeed, many were waiting to see if Nike would continue its partnership with La Flame. However, this decision seems to be far behind the two collaborators as the Swoosh brand has finally revealed the Travis Scott x Nike Air Max 1 as well as the two Travis Scott x Nike Air Trainer 1 SP. Particularly well received, the “Baroque Brown”, “Saturn Gold”, “Wheat”, and “Grey Haze” versions quickly won over many sneaker addicts, marking a successful return for the artist.
While the attention is now on the Air Jordan 1 Low, particularly with the stunning Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Reverse Mocha”, rumors suggest that Travis Scott and Jordan will be working on the Air Jordan 7 for 2023.
So, what can we expect? Discover the first details and what we know about this hypothesis!
The Air Jordan 7 in the hands of Travis Scott?
According to information from @_PO2345, “the partnership between Nike, Jordan, and Travis Scott is likely to continue, expect this dynamic unit to explore a new realm of possibilities in the future. This time, the Air Jordan 7 and for the first time, a new shoe with a brand new design from Houston”
Many Jordan silhouettes have passed through La Flame's hands. The latest, the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Reverse Mocha”. Structured with an inverted colorway and signature elements from the rapper, it was long awaited by sneaker addicts. And while this must-have was teased for the first time on the feet of his daughter Stormi, it finally released last July, with two new versions in preparation such as:
Anticipated, but similar to the first low version, the rapper seems this time to be taking risks and tackling the Air Jordan 7. Released in 1992, it follows the Air Jordan 6 which did not fail to honor the Jordan line to continue this historic partnership.
Inspired by typical patterns from West African cultures, it blends a new creativity from Tinker Hatfield with Michael Jordan's desire for a sneaker that is “young and interesting while remaining sophisticated”. Available for the first time with the “Bordeaux”, “Hare”, “Raptor”, “Olympic”, and “Cardinal” versions, the Air Jordan 7 has marked generations over time and has brilliantly continued Jordan's meteoric success.
Thirty years later, it seems that it is about to benefit from an unprecedented design by the Houston-born rapper. Indeed, a fan of the reversed swoosh on both the Air Jordan 1 High and the Air Jordan 1 Low, the silhouette he is about to work on is, in no way, equipped with a large lateral swoosh. So, could it be the first version to have one?
In light of this announcement and this question, many mock-ups have emerged and allow for imagination. This potential release seems to trigger a certain hype within the sneaker world, and some believe it will be adorned with a colorway unique to the Cactus Jack label. Others, however, are convinced that this Travis Scott x AJ7 could well feature a completely innovative design as suggested by @_PO2345.
