While the Hong Kong-based streetwear brand could leave Nike for the three-stripe brand, one final Nike Dunk Low is about to conclude two decades of collaboration.
This news hasn't gone unnoticed given the popularity of the CLOT x Nike partnership! And for good reason, since 2006, the Swoosh brand has launched a series of successful sneakers in collaboration with Edison Chen and Kevin Poon, the founders of CLOT.
Through bold and particularly creative designs on the Air Max 1, the Air Force 1, the Nike Dunk Low and the Nike Cortez, the Hong Kong brand has explored and shared the origins of traditional Chinese culture in order to translate them onto the Swoosh brand's iconic silhouettes.
However, despite the success of both partners, it appears that CLOT is ending its partnership with Nike in order to explore new opportunities. And according to certain rumors, it's with the three-stripe brand that they want to continue their exchange of sneaker culture between East and West. While nothing has been confirmed for the moment, CLOT is delivering one last project that draws from its history with the sportswear brand.
CLOT x Nike Dunk Low "What The? Clot"
In the image of both collaborators, this final iteration delivers a captivating fusion of numerous elements from previous successful pairs. And to offer an impactful tribute, CLOT mismatches the lowtop. On this occasion, the left side draws inspiration from the comfortable Air Jordan 13 Terracotta Warrior as well as the Air Max 1 Kiss of Death, the very first pair from this legendary collaboration. The right side features a silver panel from the Nike Dunk High Flux, as well as a speckled midsole seen on the Air Max 1 Kiss of Death 2 released in 2013. Finally, this pair should feature a translucent toebox and a tear-away finish.
This CLOT x Nike Dunk Low "What The" is expected to come with a special box and will release during 2023. For now, it's priced at 120 euros.
UPDATE JULY 19: The CLOT x Nike Dunk Low "What The? Clot" will release on July 29, 2023 on Juice.

Previous CLOT x Nike collaborations of 2023
CLOT x Nike Dunk Low "Cork"
In order to celebrate its 20th anniversary, CLOT recently delivered a dunk low inspired by the creativity and development of founder and creative director Edison Chen. As a tribute to the cork boards he used for inspiration and creation, the sneaker features an elegant cork upper. And that's not all! The two partners deliver six interchangeable swooshes that elevate this iconic collaboration.
The CLOT X Nike Dunk Low "Cork" released on June 22, but remains available at many retailers.
CLOT x Fragment x Nike Dunk Low "20th Anniversary"
Known for collaborations, the Swoosh brand brought together two Asian labels particularly present on the streetwear scene. After Clot's reinterpretation of the Nike Cortez, it was Fragment's turn to join the iconic duo. And this time, Edison Chen and Hiroshi Fujiwara, the respective directors of Clot and Fragment, both turned their attention to the Nike Dunk Low. The result was quite striking as the lowtop was unveiled with an upper crafted entirely in silk, adorned with Asian-inspired patterns.
This CLOT x Fragment x Nike Dunk Low "20th Anniversary" released on June 14, but is still available at many retailers.
CLOT x Nike Cortez
Earlier in the year, the two partners turned their attention to the Nike Cortez. Innovation and novelty took center stage, as the pair was unveiled with a 3-in-1 design inspired by kung-fu. Through the CLOT x Nike Cortez Clotez "Black White", we find the Yin Yang philosophy as well as innovative technical aspects. This was followed by a "Bruce Lee" version and a "Forrest Gump" version a few months later.
