A scent of nostalgia and a wind of novelty blow over Liverpool: Nike and the legendary football club join forces to unveil a Nike Air Max 95 steeped in history.
In Liverpool, the Air Max 95 is not just a pair. It is an institution. For decades, Sergio Lozano's design has hit the pavements of the northern neighborhoods as well as the steps of Anfield (Liverpool's stadium), steeped in the city's culture and the proud attitude of its inhabitants. Back in 2015, the sportswear brand sensed the potential of a connection by co-signing with JD Sports a Nike Air Max 95 in the model's colors. Ten years later, Nike goes further and unveils a new edition, followed by a full collection paying tribute to the club, its supporters, and its heritage.
For several years now, the Swoosh has been multiplying nods to European clubs through bold collaborations. In Paris, the Swoosh pairs PSG with Jordan Brand for collections between the pitch and the runway. In Barcelona, the brand injects the club's flamboyant DNA into the design of the Nike Air Max Plus. In Marseille, it tints the Tn with an azure blue as electric as the Velodrome. Nike understands well: the jersey no longer stays quietly in the locker room. It parades through the streets, shows up at concerts, and makes its mark on the pavement.
While clubs are now making their way onto pairs, 2025 especially marks the 30th anniversary of the Nike Air Max 95, a legendary model that remains one of Nike's best sellers. An understandable success since the layered design allows the pair numerous possibilities, which Nike has explored in depth over the past decades.
A final song with the Swoosh
This launch also resonates as a farewell. Starting August 1, 2025, Liverpool FC will say goodbye to Nike to reunite with adidas, its former historic partner. A strategic decision that makes this Nike Air Max 95 one of the last witnesses, a final bouquet, an ultimate celebration of a partnership rich in emotions.
Black gradient. Red touches. Smoky grey shades. The pair alone embodies the soul of Liverpool. On the branding side, the Liver Bird (the club's emblem) replaces the traditional label bearing the sizing information, while the insole displays a sewn label bearing the words "You'll Never Walk Alone," a mantra engraved in the heart of every Reds supporter. The jersey is no longer worn only on match nights, but every day, in the streets, at parties, at festivals. And this time, it is Liverpool that joins this gallery of tributes.
The Liverpool FC x Nike Air Max 95 positions itself as a springboard for style and fervor. It is Anfield in the rain, it is a YNWA chorus screamed at the top of your lungs, it is the attitude of the streets engraved in a sole. Nike and Liverpool sign here a piece of history, ready to be worn starting April 9 in LFC stores and on store.liverpoolfc.com, but also at retailer jdsports.fr or SNKRS, on April 16. Expect to pay 190 euros.
