The sun of the South meets the forests of New England. For the first time, Jacquemus and Timberland revisit a 1970s icon in a Haute Couture version.
On paper, everything seems to set them apart. On one side, Timberland, an American workwear monument, boots firmly grounded in the earth with a lugged sole. On the other, Jacquemus, poet of the South, master of sensual and minimalist silhouettes, in love with lavender fields and sculptural volumes. And yet, this collaboration makes sense. Beyond appearances, both partners share the same demand: that of the right detail and materials that last.

Forget the classic brown leather, enter a premium banana yellow leather, as soft as a morning in Provence. While the design stays true to the Timberland DNA, with its signature lugged sole and sturdy construction, it gets a couture touch through exclusive finishes. Square eyelets. Thick cotton laces. No doubt, the pair passes through the hands of the founder and artistic director of Jacquemus. The result? A hybrid piece, between maritime heritage and Mediterranean poetry, dubbed "Le Bateau."
From the East Coast to the South of France, the boat shoe undergoes a transformation
Created in 1978, the Timberland 3-Eye Lug was originally a rugged boat shoe, designed to withstand the most demanding environments. Its lugged sole ensured optimal grip on wet decks, while its premium leather promised unmatched longevity. A true icon of the American wardrobe, the pair has crossed decades without ever losing its functional aura. Symbol of a comeback, the boat shoe is once again appealing beyond sailboat decks and Ivy League campuses, carried by a genuine revival. Already spotted on the catwalks, notably at Miu Miu, the boat shoe is breaking free. Jacquemus firmly anchors it in the spirit of the times, propelling it far from cliches.
With this collaboration, the French designer betrays nothing of his heritage, quite the opposite, he elevates it. By injecting his sunny and minimalist DNA into this iconic silhouette, he manages to magnify the 3-Eye Lug's codes without erasing them. But that's not all. Jacquemus crosses the Atlantic from April 24 to 27 for the opening of his new boutique located at the intersection of Melrose Avenue and Robertson Boulevard, near the famous multi-brand store Maxfield, and the Acne Studio and James Perse boutiques. Los Angeles becomes, for the duration of a launch, the stage for an imaginary market where flower bouquets and banana ice cream carry the event, in a sunny atmosphere where the pair will be available exclusively.
