To celebrate Kith's sixteen years, Ronnie Fieg is gearing up for a major program with Nike, featuring sixteen collaborations.
Ronnie Fieg is already preparing for the 16th anniversary of Kith. Just as his brand has celebrated its fifteenth year, the New York designer confirmed in an interview with Complex that he is working on a new project with Nike. Dubbed “Sweet 16”, this will bring together no less than sixteen different collaborations throughout the year. Originally, the project was meant to coincide with Kith's fifteenth anniversary in 2026. Ronnie Fieg ultimately decided to push its launch back a year to allow more time for his relationship with Elliot Hill, CEO of Nike, to develop. This change in schedule has given birth to the concept of “Sweet 16”.
Founded by Ronnie Fieg in 2011, Kith will celebrate its sixteen years next year. For the occasion, Fieg has chosen sixteen of his favorite Nike silhouettes to rework with Kith. This is a way to continue a relationship that began several years ago between the two partners, while developing one of the most significant footwear programs in the history of the sportswear brand. The project also embraces the American tradition associated with the sixteenth anniversary, an idea that Ronnie Fieg explains he thought of through his daughters. The concept gradually evolved into a comprehensive program centered around Nike.
Which sneakers for the Kith x Nike “Sweet 16”?
For now, Ronnie Fieg has not revealed any of the sixteen silhouettes. However, several models could potentially be included in the program given his history with Nike and his personal preferences. The Air Force 1 holds a significant place in the collaborations between Kith and Nike. After a first edition reserved for Friends & Family in 2019, the two brands have developed several variations of the model, particularly around Kith's openings in Tokyo, Paris, and Hawaii.
But the relationship between Ronnie Fieg and Nike has also been built around several other silhouettes. Over the years, the designer has shown interest in the running archives of the sportswear brand, a realm that has long held a significant place in his work.
The year 2027 will also coincide with the thirtieth anniversary of the Air Max 97 and the Air Foamposite One. Two models that could have a special place in the program, even though their presence has not yet been confirmed. Ronnie Fieg has also previously shared a selection of his favorite Nike models, including the Air Max 95, Air Force 1 Low, Air Footscape Woven, Air Max 1, Air Zoom Spiridon, Dunk Low, and Air Max 97. Now it remains to be seen if the designer will draw directly from this list to create the 16 collaborations.
When is it dropping?
The sixteen Kith x Nike “Sweet 16” collaborations will drop throughout 2027. For now, Ronnie Fieg has not communicated any specific timeline for the project. Initial information about the different models should be gradually revealed as their launch approaches. Stay tuned!
