Marcus Jordan, Michael Jordan's son, has a few surprises in store for next year. After many rumors, he finally revealed some details about the upcoming collaboration between his shop, Trophy Room and Jordan. Indeed, in the latest episode of "The Sneaky Link Podcast" from last Friday, Marcus Jordan confirms that a new collaboration between the two partners is in the works.
After the iconic Air Jordan 1 High, his interpretation of the Air Jordan 5, the Air Jordan 7, the Air Jordan 13 and the Air Jordan 17, Trophy Room now seems ready to pay tribute to the AJ1 Low.
When Trophy Room Takes on the Air Jordan 1 Low
Just like the Air Jordan 1 High, the upcoming collaboration is set to touch an important part of Michael Jordan's historical legacy. While no mock-up offers a first look, Marcus Jordan specifies that two Air Jordan 1 Lows are planned. Additionally, @mr_unloved1s and @brandon1an have unveiled new information about the colorways. The first pair will be covered in a mix of black, sail and metallic gold. The second colorway should arrive in a combination of black, sail and red, which inevitably brings to mind the Chicago color blocking that inspired the Jordan 1.
Finally, a special box should come with both pairs. Enough to keep us on edge before getting a first mock-up of this promising collaboration.
Toward a New Backdoor Release?
On February 10, 2021, Marcus Jordan, Michael Jordan's son and founder of the Orlando-based Trophy Room shop, released his pair. Announced nearly a year prior, this Air Jordan 1 was one of the most anticipated pairs of 2021. And for good reason. Trophy designed a Jordan 1 paying homage to his father and his famous "Freeze Out" during the 1985 All-Star Game. The design was successful, the story was compelling, everything was in place for the Trophy Room x Air Jordan 1 High OG to be a true success within sneaker culture.
However, while the pair was limited to only 12,000 units, a large portion of the stock ended up in the hands of well-known resellers. Amid allegations against Marcus Jordan, a question remains about this future release. Will the Air Jordan 1 High's younger siblings be more accessible? What is certain is that the shop will be closely watched by many sneaker enthusiasts.
So When Does It Drop?
New rumors have surfaced suggesting that the Trophy Room x Air Jordan 1 Low OG release is scheduled for March 21, 2024 on Trophy Room. However, no additional information indicates whether the pair will be available on SNKRS.
