As usual, New Balance is expanding its catalog with new models set to punctuate the coming months. After the New Balance 9060 and the New Balance CT302, it's time for a futuristic silhouette with the New Balance Warped Runner.
While @kicksdonc revealed the first visuals on Instagram back in June, Shigeyuki Kunii, creative director of Mita Sneakers, finally shared the pair's final look. Dubbed the Warped Runner, it draws inspiration from the 990 range. In terms of materials, the running shoe features a mesh base with a prominent N logo and layered suede overlays. However, the Boston brand innovates by inserting a substantial FuelCell outsole.
The launch of the New Balance Warped Runner is expected to begin in August. The question remains: will it be New Balance's most sought-after pair in 2024? One thing is certain, it won't go unnoticed, as AURALEE has already adopted this new silhouette.

As expected, Men's Spring-Summer 2024 Fashion Week brought its share of surprises, particularly from the Boston brand. While Salehe Bembury took the opportunity to unveil his upcoming collaboration on the iconic New Balance 1906R, it was AURALEE that stole the spotlight. Indeed, the label founded by Ryota Iwai teased its new partnership with the Boston brand during its show. And it's on this brand-new model that this iconic partnership will continue!
Known for its technical approach and minimalist values, AURALEE celebrates the Warped Runner in its purest form, combining subtlety and intensity. Unlike the AURALEE x New Balance 1906R "Lavender" and the AURALEE x New Balance 1906R "White Cream", both revealed during Paris Fashion Week 2023, these two silhouettes opt for elegant, understated monochrome tones.
One features a cream mesh base while the other opts for dark mesh. Suede overlays appear on both, giving each pair a premium feel. As for branding, the lateral N logo is dressed in suede, affirming the chic streetwear style signed AURALEE x New Balance. However, the initial visuals don't show the co-brandings clearly. We assume they adorn the insole and likely the tongue in a very discreet manner. Finally, two substantial structured FuelCell molded foam outsoles complete this innovative design.
The AURALEE x New Balance Warped Runner will release in 2024 at AURALEE and New Balance. However, no pricing has been revealed yet.
