Every year, New Balance honors grey with its Grey Days. For the 2026 edition, the brand celebrates its signature color through numerous silhouettes.
At New Balance, gray isn't just a trend, it's a signature. Every year, the Boston brand reminds us of this with its Grey Days, an event that has become unmissable, where the colorway transforms into a true cultural expression ground. Launched on April 27 from Boston, this new edition confirms the project's ambition: to make gray the common thread of a global narrative. For a month, New Balance unveils a series of activations around numerous models. From the New Balance Abzorb 2010 to the Abzorb 5030, Grey Days offer an immersion into the DNA of a brand that has turned a neutral shade into a symbol of identity.
To carry this vision, New Balance is building an ambitious campaign led by a new generation of athletes and ambassadors. Among them are Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Darius Garland, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Andrew Reynolds. Alongside them, cultural figures like Aminé and Quincy Wilson enrich the narrative. The result? Gray becomes a common language, capable of connecting different worlds without ever losing coherence.
From Pragmatic Choice to Iconic Symbol
Let’s rewind to the 1980s. Going against the grain of a market dominated by brightly colored sneakers, New Balance made a radical choice: introducing grey models, designed to blend into urban environments. An initially functional decision that gradually became a strong marker. Over the decades, grey established itself, becoming inseparable from the brand's image. What started as a pragmatic solution transformed into a true visual philosophy. Even today, this shade embodies a balance between innovation and heritage.

“From its origins, where it was both a unique and practical choice for urban runners, to its current status as an iconic signature of the brand, grey remains a powerful expression of New Balance's heritage,” said Jeff McAdams, Senior Vice President of Global Marketing. “Grey Days 2026 celebrates our evolution as a brand; it represents how innovation, craftsmanship, and an unwavering commitment to our bold independence ethic have shaped our identity, while illustrating the countless ways this iconic shade continues to inspire and reinvent the realm of possibilities.”
From the FuelCell Rebel V5 to the Abzorb 2010: all the silhouettes
The Grey Days campaign rolls out throughout the month with a series of launches. New Balance is crafting a narrative where each drop deepens its exploration of gray. Starting May 1st, the Bostonians unveil the Grey Shop, available in-store and online. This selection brings together iconic models and new releases. On the agenda: the FuelCell Rebel V5, the 1080v15, the Numeric Andrew Reynolds 993, and the Numeric Tiago Lemos 1010. Each silhouette forms a cohesive collection.

Continuing the experience, New Balance extends its Abzorb range. Launched in the mid-90s as a revolutionary running technology, Abzorb has undergone multiple evolutions. Back then, New Balance transformed comfort with cushioning that pushed the limits of comfort and performance, and the Abzorb technology has become a benchmark for performance. Each silhouette from the Abzorb range has maintained this promise: to protect and enhance the experience while adapting to the demands of new generations.

This is an opportunity for New Balance to plan a series of silhouettes: the Abzorb 2000 and the Abzorb 5030 revisit the running influences of the 2000s, while the Abzorb 2010 pushes the boundaries of technical design, making technology a central visual element. Finally, the Abzorb 1890 and Numeric 770 enrich this lineup. The first silhouette explores the brand's technical heritage in a more experimental way, while the second, stemming from cross-training and reintroduced after thirty years, adapts to today's lifestyle codes.
Gray as a Manifesto
With Grey Days, New Balance isn't just celebrating a color palette. The Bostonians are celebrating a way of thinking about design, sport, and culture through numerous silhouettes rooted in sneaker culture. Gray becomes an infinite canvas for expression here.
