For the fifth consecutive year, the Swoosh brand is planning a collection inspired by Mexico's most iconic tradition: El Dia De Los Muertos. In turn, Nike vibrates to the rhythm of these celebrations, skillfully blending Mexican cultural heritage through a complete pack. An opportunity to discover pairs that tell a unique story, highlighting traditional symbols and colors.
The spirit of the Mexican celebration through Nike's iconic silhouettes
Mexico's abundant culture, where joy meets death and traditions and rituals are accompanied by parades, songs, dance, carnivals, and grand festive meals, harmonizes with Nike's icons. Through the Air Max 1, the Air Jordan 1, the Dunk Low, and the Nike Blazer, the Swoosh traces numerous traditions. The result? Promising releases to follow very closely.
- Nike Air Max 1 PRM "Dia de los Muertos"
The sportswear brand gets it: El Dia de los Muertos is a joyful and colorful celebration. Thus, Tinker Hatfield's grand classic transcends Mexican heritage and perpetuates the love and happiness of timeless family bonds with a flashy pink upper, reminiscent of the vibrant hues of Mexican folklore. Fluorescent embroideries are then added, drawing their inspiration from the patterns that adorn Mexican skull-shaped candy. Finally, a special box accompanies this release that we recommend keeping an eye on.
- Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2 "Dia de los Muertos"
While Nike's designers deliver a brilliant blend of style and cultural influences on the Air Jordan 1 Zoom, they don't neglect its materials and use premium quality leather. Floral embroideries elevate the pair, drawing on a technique called "papel picado," used when creating altars. Finally, the pair features an aged treatment and a special box.
- Nike Dunk Low PRM "Dia de los Muertos"
What better than a Nike Dunk Low to celebrate El Dia de los Muertos? Absent from last year's pack, the Swoosh brand's creative teams turned to Peter Moore's iteration for a rather bold result. Crafted with a textured yellow leather base and adorned with vibrant embroideries, this low-top captures the very essence of the hummingbird, as well as the marigold, also called "the flower of the dead." And like the previous pairs, a special box accompanies it.
- Nike Blazer Mid "Dia de los Muertos"
Finally, a Nike Blazer Mid completes this commemorative pack. With a more classic and refined style, the pair features smooth white leather, accented with a subtle touch of blue. On the lateral heels, crescent moons and stars are embroidered in metallic gold, paying tribute to the Day of the Dead celebration. Finally, a special box accompanies the pair.
When does the Dia de los Muertos collection release?
While the Dia de los Muertos festivities take place during the first two days of November, in an explosion of colors and joy, the Swoosh brand has planned the drop of its collection on October 21st. As such, the Nike Air Max 1 PRM "Dia de los Muertos" will release on SNKRS while the Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2, Nike Dunk Low PRM, and Nike Blazer Mid "Dia de los Muertos" will release on Nike.
