You've been waiting for it, and it's coming! Like every March 26th for the past ten years, Nike celebrates its oldest range through an event: Air Max Day. Since 2014, it has had its own date on the calendar to honor the launch day of the Nike Air Max 1, which marked the beginning of a revolution. This year, the sportswear brand is back with one goal: to go bigger and better than ever. The occasion to glimpse a day packed with reissues, but especially with new releases. What better than a brand-new silhouette to extend the Air Max range?
The Nike Air Max DN Takes Center Stage
Reimagining an icon. It's not just about making a few tweaks, but about developing and launching an entirely new model, with a focus on futuristic and innovative design. For these new festivities, the Swoosh has unveiled the Air Max DN, Nike's new promise representing the evolution of previous designs. Following the Air Max Pulse released in 2023, engineers gathered to deliver the Air technology of the future, renamed Dynamic Air: a cushioning system integrating a new dual-pressure Nike Air unit, promising unmatched comfort and bounce within the range.
And while technological expertise takes center stage, Nike's team is banking on a futuristic design that sits between the Nike Air Max Plus and the Air Max Deluxe. "Our goal? To deliver a revolutionary new Air Max model that the next generation can make their own, and to restore all the reactivity and dynamic shape to Air technology," explains DePaul Williams, Product Associate for Nike Lifestyle Footwear.

Dynamic cushioning. Breathable upper. Superior support. The pair arrives in force with nine colorways. On the menu: a fierce blend of black and purple for both the "All Night" and "All Day" versions, while the "Black White" features a subtle black and white colorblocking. Among the announced colorways, aggressive designs are also on the horizon, as Nike's creative teams dress the DN with a neon or indigo mesh upper. Finally, Nike announces seasonal colorways with beige, white, and brown tones for its latest silhouettes. One thing is certain: the pair paves the way for future innovations in Nike's cushioned footwear lineup.
A Reissue of the Nike Air Max 1 '86 OG "Air Max Day"
Beyond the multiple Air Max Dn models that will finally be released, Air Max Day pays tribute to the classics that shaped the history and very essence of the Air Max line. In remembrance of the first Air Max Day, the Swoosh is planning the return of the Nike Air Max 1 in its "Big Bubble" version. Mesh base. Felt overlays. Neon sole. There's no doubt, the pair opts for a construction faithful to the 2014 edition. However, the lateral Swoosh adopts a royal blue tint that matches the "3.26" inscription on the label and the blue overlays on the mudguard.
And to match the pair, the Swoosh has exclusively unveiled a Nike Icon Air Max 1 '86 card holder as the ultimate tribute to the Air Max 1 "Royal". Following the "Birthday Pillow," a swoosh-shaped pillow exclusively available in Hong Kong, it seems the brand is further expanding its accessories range.
