For Air Max Day, Nike celebrates the legacy of its Air Max technology with a series of releases featuring new drops and highly anticipated returns.
As every year, March 26 marks an unmissable event: Air Max Day. In 2026, Nike seems ready to exceed all expectations. With futuristic experiments and reimagined iconic silhouettes, this year's lineup blends heritage, collaborations, and innovations. But this time, the Beaverton brand isn't limiting itself to just one day: March becomes a true Air Month, filled with staggered releases. Among the first surprises, a Nike Air Max Neon pack kicked off the festivities on March 5, while other new silhouettes have been gradually teased, promising a full month of celebration around Air technology.
Headlining the event: the Air Liquid Max. Nike reinvents Air cushioning with a new silhouette that combines technology and organic aesthetics. After several years of experimentation with the Nike Air Max DN and the Air Max DN8, the sportswear brand introduces a groundbreaking platform: a sole made of interconnected Air bubbles, creating the sensation that the pair is in motion with every step. Designed as one of the most ambitious evolutions of the Air Max range, the Liquid promises maximum shock absorption and optimized energy return, all while boasting a distinctly futuristic silhouette.

The grand return of reimagined icons
Some waves never break. After the success of 2021, Patta is reviving its partnership with Nike and presenting a new chapter of the “The Waves” collection. While the first silhouette of the pack has already been revealed, the Amsterdam-based brand is preparing to drop the second pair for Air Max Day. This one continues the story of the collection with a white base contrasted by an orange Swoosh, while retaining the iconic ripples that have defined the project. As with every collaboration between the two partners, the Nike Air Max 1 becomes a canvas where heritage and innovation meet, taking inspiration from the original Nike Air Max 1 from 1987 with a design true to the spirit of Gee Schmidt and Edson Sabajo.

But that's not all. Nike continues its surprise series with the Air Max 1000, born from a collaboration with Zellerfeld, a specialist in 3D-printed shoes. The silhouette returns in a black colorway where Volt Air units highlight the sole and add contrast. The smooth and textured monoblock TPU upper reinforces its visual identity, balancing experimental approach with continuity of Air Max DNA. The Nike Air Max 90 “Infrared” also makes a grand return. Originally launched in 1990 and inspired by Tinker Hatfield's silhouette, the pair retains its iconic red but adopts a reflective leather upper, replacing the traditional mesh.

The Nike Air Max 95 at the heart of Air Max Day
The Air Max 95 is not to be left out and once again stands out as one of the pillars of this 2026 edition. Available in several versions, the silhouette designed by Sergio Lozano continues to explore new grounds while staying true to its DNA. The Nike Air Max 95 “Pink Foam”, particularly popular in recent years, makes its return with characteristic pink hues, while the Nike Air Max 95 “Greedy”, originally launched in 2015, returns with a Big Bubble sole inspired by the latest versions.

Finally, the sportswear brand unveils a collaboration with Oregon Ducks, created alongside Ducks of a Feather. Named “Tall Firs”, the collection draws direct inspiration from the landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. While the “Lumber Yard” version features wood-like textures, the Nike Air Max 95 “The Woods” opts for a denser suede, evoking moss. After a first drop at Flight Club on March 21, both pairs will be available exclusively via GOAT for Air Max Day.
