Following a collaboration revealed earlier this year, the Japanese label and the Amsterdam institution are back for a second chapter centered around the work of Vincent van Gogh. This time, the collaboration focuses on two other staples of the Bape universe: the Bape Sta and the Bearbrick. For this occasion, two paintings by the Dutch artist are highlighted, Sunflowers, created in 1889, and Almond Blossom, painted a year later.

Bape draws directly from the palettes of the two paintings. Sunflowers adorn a first version dominated by the signature yellows of the artwork, while Almond Blossom brings in its blue tones and flowering branches. Created by Van Gogh to celebrate the birth of his nephew, this latter painting symbolizes renewal and hope. On both pairs, the artworks meet the “Oil Painting Camo” pattern, directly inspired by the colors and brush strokes of the painter.

The collection also extends with the Bearbrick, offered in its 100% and 400% formats. The figures also take inspiration from Van Gogh's works, continuing the theme of the Shark Hoodie designed for the first installment. The Bape x Van Gogh Museum collection will be available in limited quantities on September 12 on Bape's European website.
