As every week, the sneaker world was marked by numerous announcements. Between new designs and reinterpretations, there was plenty of movement. Here are the details!
20 years of Tuned Air, celebrated by the return of the Air Max VII
Nothing seems to stop the Swoosh. For the twentieth anniversary of Tuned Air technology, Nike brings back an icon: the Nike Air Max Plus VII. Legendary. Bold. Visionary. The 2005 silhouette returns in its original colorway, paying tribute to the Tuned Air legacy. Yellow mesh. Black details. Wavy overlays. Mini Swoosh. The pair offers a true visual narrative through the Swoosh's archives. On the technology side, performance remains a top priority with the return of the Tuned Air cushioning system. While details about other colorways remain unclear, new versions will enrich this reissue planned for fall 2025, a pair that has been absent from the shelves for far too long. Stay Tuned!
Sandy Liang reinterprets the Salomon XT-Whisper
Sandy Liang is not done with Salomon! Following the success of the Salomon Speedcross 3, the New York-based designer revisits a new silhouette from the French equipment manufacturer: the XT-Whisper. Resurrected from the archives since December, the technical silhouette is about to be nuanced with a touch of delicacy by Sandy. Mesh. Metallic paneling. Pink accents. No doubt, the pair is a true clash of two worlds. "The XT-Whisper is one of my favorite silhouettes from Salomon's archives, and I loved the challenge of reimagining it from a new, modern perspective," said the designer. While the pair's release is set for January 16, 2025 on Sandy Liang's website, a global release is expected on January 23rd through Salomon. Ladies, expect to pay 150 euros.
The Air Jordan 1 High '85 "Bred" celebrates its 40th anniversary
Like it or not, the Air Jordan 1 High holds a special place in the sneaker world. In recent years, fatigue has been felt around the first signature shoe. Jordan is already planning to revitalize its lineup with a design straight from its most archaic archives: the Air Jordan 1 High '85 "Bred". While the pair has already seen various reinterpretations in recent years, including satin and patent leather versions, the next iteration is set to deliver a version faithful to the original aesthetic. Leather construction. Iconic red accents. There's no doubt, the Bred version is back on February 14th and should satisfy everyone. Not only for its historical importance as the shoe that defied NBA uniform regulations, but also for its enduring appeal within sneaker culture. On the branding side, the Jordan teams will leave its traditional elements to breathe new life into this timeless design.
Kanye West relaunches the YEEZY machine

Who said Kanye West was done with YEEZY? After denouncing and accusing the three-stripe brand of burying his website in Google search results, Ye is ready to reclaim his rights by launching an entirely new silhouette: the Yeezy BL-01 "Bully". Inspired by 2000s skate culture, the BL-01 continues the rapper's exploration of post-adidas slip-on designs. Featuring voluminous and exaggerated proportions, the design fuses futuristic aesthetics with nostalgic elements. On the menu: mesh cutouts, serrated treads, and a chunky outsole. Given the price of the Yeezy Prods ($20), the BL-01 could follow a similar pricing strategy. Whether it will be a success remains to be seen.
