Brands like Nike, adidas, Puma, and many others are announcing their upcoming silhouettes for the year. Between new designs and reinterpretations, there will be something for everyone, plenty of reason to keep an eye on the new silhouettes of 2025.
Retro reissues not to miss
For the twentieth anniversary of its Tuned Air technology, the Swoosh is bringing an icon back to the spotlight: the Nike Air Max Plus VII. Legendary. Bold. Visionary. The 2005 silhouette makes its return through the original colorway, but also with new offerings paying tribute to the Tuned Air heritage. Mesh. Black details. Wavy overlays. Mini Swoosh. The pair offers a true visual narrative through the archives. On the technology side, performance remains an absolute priority with the return of the Tuned Air cushioning system.
The cats are not to be outdone. This year, the Fenty x Puma line finally made its grand return. Launched in 2015, then discontinued in 2017, the sportswear collection is ready to take a new turn, notably with the arrival of the Avanti LS. Leather upper. Nubuck. Gold accents. The pair brings a new angle to the silhouette inspired by football legends, confirming Rihanna's ability to reinvent classics.
Futuristic visions to watch
While the Boston-based brand rides the 1906 Loafer trend, a new model is already ready to shake up sneaker culture: the New Balance 2000 ABZORB. Gustavo Soares, a stylist and creative director based in Sao Paulo, unveiled a first look at an update of the archive model. Mesh upper. Synthetic overlays. N logo. There is no doubt, the running pair gets a new lease of life far from the 2000s. The finishing touch? An ABZORB system for optimal shock protection.

First spotted during his public outings with his signature bootcut jeans, the adidas Jellyfish was finally revealed to the sneaker world. It is already impossible to ignore the similarities between this new collaborative project and other retro silhouettes from the adidas catalog, notably the Response CL and the Adistar Cushion 3. While the overall shape and design language of the model are rooted in the German firm's archives, the Pharrell Williams touch is present through the materials used and the direct references to his story. The plastic overlays on the upper resemble an exoskeleton and draw inspiration from the original aesthetic of the Adistar line. As for the colorway, the pair features shades of orange, white, grey, and black, hinting at a summer release.

You have to get your hands dirty to create something new. While the three-stripe brand surrounds itself with numerous partners to revive its archives, adidas decided to work solo on an entirely new futuristic model: the adidas XLG Metawave. Inspired by Chinese ink painting, the design features multiple mesh layers with the addition of wavy lines that give the impression of movement. On the technology side, the pair features LightStrike cushioning, while a thick sole completes the look that is reminiscent of Balenciaga models.
The loafer, a new competitor to sneakers
Loafer or sneaker, why not both? While Junya Watanabe and New Balance surprised everyone at Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2024, slip-ons are now competing with sneakers. If mixing a loafer with a sneaker is daring territory, New Balance showed boldness with a pair that borrows the characteristics of the 1906 silhouette: mesh upper, synthetic overlays, and 860v2 sole. The design doesn't just blur the lines, it establishes a new dimension between tradition and high performance. The result? An interesting, captivating, and versatile model that has certainly sparked a new dynamic for the brand.

On its side, Hoka paid tribute to the Hoka Speedgoat 5 by offering a 2.0 model. Trail. Customized speed. Leather upper. Suede. Premium materials. The 100% Hoka DNA goes off the beaten path with this new silhouette blending luxury and performance. While for now the pair has only released in one colorway, many versions should follow and continue to popularize the loafer that is gradually carving out its place in the sneaker world.
The revenge of the ballerinas

Who said ballerinas didn't deserve a second chance? In its drive to offer trendy new silhouettes, Puma is evolving its Speedcat with a very feminine direction from the 2000s. Halfway between a sneaker and a Mary Jane shoe, the Puma Speedcat Ballet reprises its former construction. Using the model's discreet tooling, as well as its suede construction and Formstrip branding that makes the shoe recognizable, the Speedcat Ballet SD arrives as an avant-garde model from Puma's very select line. In place of lacing, a series of crossed elastic straps is added, paired with a floating Formstrip logo on the lateral side used in the discipline of dance, without losing touch with the Speedcat's identity. The Puma branding appears again on the front of the pair, as well as on the insoles, which are much more visible given the shoe's redesign. Several colorways have already been unveiled and should soon conquer the streets... like it or not.

A few days after the release of his album (DeBi TIRAR Mas FOTos), the Puerto Rican artist took advantage of the Fall/Winter 2025 catwalk in the French capital to officially launch his next collaboration with the three-stripe brand: the adidas Ballerina. Inspired by the adidas Taekwondo, a pair that pays tribute to indoor sports, Bad Bunny transfers the martial arts inspiration to that of dance. Soft leather. Three stripes. The pair reprises its classic construction but swaps its traditional stitching at the forefoot with suede overlays. The result? Two premium pairs that continue the partnership between the two collaborators, bringing a fresh breath starting April 1.
