The curtain rises on the Paris edition of Fashion Week, running from January 16 to 21. Between exhibitions and pop-up stores, retailers once again promise exciting partnerships. Here is a look at the sneaker events set to mark Fashion Week in the French capital.
Naked Copenhagen Sets Up Shop in Paris
Dreams undoubtedly take time. As Naked Copenhagen prepares to celebrate its twentieth anniversary, the Denmark-based shop is starting a new chapter by opening a store outside of Denmark. Founded in 2004, the small boutique has become a global reference in the sneaker world, offering exclusives and limited-edition products. It is now in a vast 300m2 space located in the Marais that you can discover an immersive and personal retail experience featuring brands like the Swoosh, Jordan Brand, adidas, New Balance, Salomon and more.
This first physical location in a major capital, in a neighborhood home to players like Foot Patrol, 14 Temple, Edmond et Shoes, as well as Supreme, Stussy and Carhartt WIP, should serve as a test before potential future expansions into other major European cities. In the meantime, the Parisian store opens its doors on Tuesday, February 16, 2024 at 38 rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie in the 4th arrondissement of Paris.
Paperboy and Beams Bring the Asics GT-2160 Back to Life
After the boys, the girls. Paperboy gives way to Papergirl for Fashion Week. With the support of Beams, the Parisian restaurant is back in action, teaming up with the Japanese brand Asics. It is through the GT-2160 model that the three partners have chosen to inaugurate the launch of the Parisian cafe's second streetwear-linked line.
Here, the trio brings to life a pair that opts for a proven formula from Asics, with its white mesh base and silver overlays, emblematic of the Japanese giant. Adding to the design, white polka dots provide contrast against the pale pink accents found on the laces. Naturally, a capsule collection accompanies the Papergirl, featuring a tracksuit, hoodies and t-shirts in grey, pale pink and white.
The Papergirl will launch on January 19 at Paperboy Paris, 137 rue Amelot in the 11th arrondissement of Paris.
C.P. Company and Asics, Where Design Meets Cutting-Edge Technology
To wrap up a packed week, the Japanese giant will also cross paths with C.P. Company. For the first time, the brand founded by Massimo Osti, often called the father of streetwear, will bring its touch to the design of the Gel-Quantum 360. On the agenda: two monochrome pairs that deliver a bold statement. The first opts for a yellow colorway with breathable mesh and a matching TPU upper that provides both structure and durability. The second takes a softer colorway, highlighting the logos on the toebox and tongue. This new technical dimension will be available exclusively on January 19 and 20, 2024 in Paris, at the Maison des Metallos, 94 rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud, 75011 Paris.
