The start of the year means Chinese New Year. As every year, special edition pairs are released by our favorite brands, Nike, Jordan and New Balance. While the date of Chinese New Year in the Gregorian calendar varies from year to year, the transition will take place on February 10th. For this occasion, brands honor the passage from the Year of the Rabbit to the Year of the Dragon.

On the Boston side, the New Balance 1906U will be the occasion to unveil a full pack in honor of the ancestral celebration. Between festivity and tradition, both pairs retain the characteristic shape and distinct silhouette of the 1906R.
However, significant innovations are introduced, including a semi-translucent ripstop upper and elegant premium leather. Other modifications include adjusted overlays and perforations on the mudguard. Finally, the NB inscription gives way to a new "Running" mention on the tongue, while the pairs opt for a "Pink" and "Cream" colorway.
The New Balance 1906U "Lunar New Year" pack is expected to arrive in early 2024 on New Balance and at other retailers.

The Beaverton brand continues its "Year of the Dragon" saga with another iteration of the Air Force 1 Low. Much like the previous pair, this one ditches the traditional Chinese New Year colors for a colorway suited to the spring season. This is an opportunity to discover an immaculate pair, elevated by a grey swoosh and chrome branding. The outsole, meanwhile, is refined with a translucent pink sole. Finally, a carabiner may accompany the pair, which appears to be an Asia exclusive.
