The Certified Lover Boy isn't done surprising us and seems ready to expand his creative footprint. Following the success of various versions of the Hot Step II, Drake is kicking off a new movement with his Nocta line. This time, the collaboration with Nike is sharpening its focus on Kevin Durant's signature silhouette: the Nike KD19. Under the Nocta branding, the sneaker showcases a design inspired by the Nike Hyperflight, a silhouette from the 2000s catalog. This choice is no accident, considering the Canadian artist's deep connection to basketball and its footwear archives.
Spotted on Instagram by @allinliveee, the first visuals reveal two silhouettes: one in orange and the other in purple. Both colorways feature a shiny finish upper, enhancing that retrofuturistic aesthetic, while Nocta's three-star emblem appears on the tongue and upper, alongside the Swoosh. A black graphic t-shirt, adorned with an archive photo of Durant from the MySpace era, rounds out this new collaboration between the two partners. However, patience is key as the collection is expected in the fall!
Update May 20, 2026: drop confirmed for June 17
Drake and Kevin Durant have just unveiled the next phase of their Nocta x Nike KD 19 collab. A new blue colorway is now set to drop on June 17, 2026, with a retail price of $155 in the United States (European price to be confirmed). On Instagram, Drake teased this third monochrome blue colorway joining the purple and orange revealed in April.
The real highlight of the announcement is the Nike video ad that accompanies the launch. The format is intentionally quirky: KD presents Drake with a series of increasingly absurd prototypes, including a hybrid shoe that combines a cowboy boot and a basketball sneaker, while the rapper showers him with over-the-top compliments like a yes man. The clip fully embraces the buddy movie vibe between the two friends and drops just a week after Drake's triple album. A well-crafted marketing move to keep the collab in the conversation ahead of the official drop.
