Recently, Joe Freshgoods took on the New Balance 610 and the Rainer Boot in his "Beneath the Surface" pack, bringing a subtle outdoor inspiration that fits perfectly into the current gorpcore trend. Following the Palace x New Balance 580 "Shade Spruce" and "Gargoyle" released last September, it appears that Lev Tanju, founder of the London label, is bringing those same inspirations to the New Balance 991 through two eye-catching versions with contrasting color palettes!
As a British label, Palace Skateboards naturally turned to the Flimby factory in England, where all New Balance Made in UK pairs are produced. There, shoes are handcrafted with premium materials in limited quantities, thanks to exceptional craftsmanship.

Following the New Balance 580 pairs, bold, vibrant color mixes define this partnership. Beyond the daring colorways, multiple materials compose the two editions, bringing character and distinction to your outfits. They feature overlays in ripstop nylon, leather and suede, in predominantly purple and pink shades for one, and beige, purple and teal for the other. Both versions share similar details such as co-branding on the tongue, "P991" dubraes and "PALACE" inscriptions on the heel tabs. ABZORB cushioning is also present, highlighted by each iteration's dominant color on the midsole, bringing a technical and comfortable element to the shoe.
The Palace x New Balance 991 Made in UK "Brown Aqua Purple" and "Grey Red Purple" released on May 12, 2023 for €230 on Palaceskateboards.com and at Palace shops. You can try again to cop them on Friday, May 19, 2023 on New Balance.
