With its new silhouette, Reebok transforms the legacy of 2000s runners into a futuristic mule.
As 2000s-inspired runners continue to make a comeback, Reebok is exploring its heritage with a fresh approach. The brand unveils the Premier Ultra Mule, a new creation that takes the technical DNA of its early 2000s performance shoes and adapts it into a laceless mule construction.
Showcased by Evan Belforti, the lead footwear designer at Reebok Special Projects, the silhouette continues the legacy of the Premier line, known for its intricate designs and multi-layered constructions. Instead of reissuing a specific historical model, Reebok chooses to reinterpret the aesthetic of 2000s runners through this unique offering.
A construction true to Reebok runners
The Premier Ultra Mule incorporates several visual codes that defined the golden age of Reebok running shoes. Its upper combines various synthetic panels, structured reinforcements, and material overlays that echo the technical constructions of models from that era. The result? The shoe boasts a deliberately complex appearance, far from the traditional runner silhouette.

To accompany this new creation, Reebok is developing several colorways that draw from the color codes associated with early 2000s runners. One version combines shades of pastel green and lilac, complemented by touches of beige and black. Another features a contrast of lilac, beige, green, and yellow, while a third adopts pale yellow and pink tones, accented with vermilion orange and dark gray.

The collection also includes more minimalist interpretations, featuring a metallic version with pink accents, an all-black model, and a final variant that opts for a more understated approach with shades of khaki and gray.

Set to drop in spring-summer 2027, the Reebok Premier Ultra confirms the brand's commitment to continue leveraging its technical heritage while embracing a more experimental approach.
