Sacai x Nike Magmascape: a model in fusion!
Nike and Sacai certainly have a sense of timing. In the midst of the Gorpcore craze, the duo dips into the archives of the ACG range and brings back the Nike Air Magma, a 2008 model with hiking shoe aesthetics that also received a collaboration with Fragment Design, the label of Japanese streetwear master Hiroshi Fujiwara, a close friend of Chitose Abe.
Sacai X Nike Magmascape: Interstellar as a backdrop
2067, the Earth is dying, a team of astronauts sets out in search of a new habitable planet, led by former NASA pilot Joseph Cooper... That's the basic premise of the film Interstellar, released in 2014 and directed by Christopher Nolan. But what's the connection with the Sacai x Nike Magmascape? It all lies in the iconic Carhartt Detroit Jacket worn by Matthew McConaughey throughout the film. This timeless workwear piece was reimagined by Chitose Abe through the Sacai x Carhartt collaboration and served as inspiration for the Magmascape British Tan!
