This is news that will delight many: Salehe and New Balance are set to continue their fruitful collaboration! Indeed, during his latest trip to the capital, the designer was spotted alongside rappers Action Bronson and Amine with an unreleased silhouette.
It was on his social media that he shared the first visuals of a Salehe Bembury x New Balance 1906R, which could extend this iconic partnership. Much like the Salehe Bembury x New Balance 990v2 "Sand Be The Time", this pair made a notable appearance during Fashion Week, which took place from Wednesday, June 21 to Sunday, June 25, 2023.
While on the Crocs side, the New York-based artist recently dropped a Crocs Pollex Slide "Citrus Milk" as well as his Crocs Pollex Clog in an elegant "Horchata" colorway, he hasn't abandoned the Boston brand and continues to apply his creative vision within the Boston workshops. After the New Balance 2002R and the New Balance 574, it's now the popular New Balance 1906R's turn.
When Salehe takes on the New Balance 1906R
Together, the New York native and the Boston brand have notably contributed to the success of the 2002R through several limited editions that revealed the creator's passion as well as his innovation. And his unique approach to design is about to be replicated on this runner, which quickly became iconic.
To do so, the artist moves away from his latest "Sand Be The Time" campaign and opts for a completely different approach. For this occasion, the shoe features a mesh base, highlighted by an elegant gradient ranging from red to yellow, passing through a striking orange tone. Additionally, numerous silver elements are added along with other design details such as the "N" branding on each quarter panel, ABZORB SBS technology for comfort and stability, and an N-ergy sole for enhanced stability.
