On one side, Sandy Liang, a young New York-based designer who has made a name for herself in the fashion world thanks to her bold and avant-garde designs drawn from her cultural and family heritage. On the other, Salomon, the French brand recognized worldwide for its high-quality sports equipment, particularly its trail and hiking shoes. The two storytelling-driven brands, separated by the Atlantic Ocean, have created a collection that combines the best of their respective worlds.
The New York-based designer stated in a press release that "Salomon and Sandy Liang are two brands that feed off of their own history. We are not trend-driven and we are committed to making great products, discovering who we are, and designing products that are right for the moment we are in". For this spring season, these American and French brands offer us two high-performing and elegant shoes, presented through a bucolic campaign. Furthermore, this collaboration may continue with other pairs and models that will follow Sandy Liang's inspirations in the coming months!
The Sandy Liang x Salomon XT-6 Expanse
Highly sought after, the Salomon XT-6 is a model that you can spot more and more in the streets, adapting to everyone's style. The difference between the Salomon XT-6 and the Salomon XT-6 Expanse is not obvious but definitely present. You will find, for example, a classic lacing system on the XT-6 Expanse and a heel tab allowing you to slip on the shoe easily. On this new version of the Salomon, the colorway is distinctive with a pink mesh upper leaning towards lilac, accompanied by black elements and small touches of green that contrast perfectly with the rest of the design. The talented New Yorker and the French sports equipment brand have refined this new edition with a pale pink and white midsole featuring Agile Chassis™ System technology for great comfort, as well as a grippy cleated outsole.

The design of this Salomon shoe is bolder, and less frequently seen on the streets. Indeed, this lowtop was designed to be lightweight and breathable, particularly during hot summer days, and offers optimal comfort. The photoshoot for the advertising campaign highlights this technical shoe paired with romantic and feminine outfits, always in line with each brand's creative direction. Unlike the first pair which relies heavily on its delicate colorway, this iteration plays on a black and transparent white contrast, combined with premium materials. Finally, three flowers representing Sandy Liang's label adorn the tongue on the upper alongside the Salomon branding, matching the insoles.
