Salehe Bembury's innovation and creative influence are set to bring a breath of fresh air this summer with the imminent drop of his new silhouette: the Crocs Pollex Slide.
Once again, the young New York-based artist teased this new design through his Instagram account. Recently appointed creative director of the Crocs Pollex Clog collection, he seems determined to push his creative vision through an authentic modernization of the slide, a category long dominated by Yeezy with its iconic adidas Yeezy Slide.
To achieve this, Salehe Bembury adapts his Crocs Pollex clog for warmer days with a blend of form and function, in perfect harmony with his boundless imagination and Crocs. "When I create a sneaker, I try to go back and think about those moments, that feeling that it was more than the product, it was the experience," he shared during an interview. Through a campaign he directs himself, the Crocs Pollex Slide makes its first appearance on the coast before sweeping across the horizon.
Many questions remain about the arrival of this pair. Will it become the slide of the summer and leave its mark on sneaker culture? Will it challenge the dominance of the Yeezy Slides? One thing is certain: Salehe Bembury's latest creation will not go unnoticed.
The Crocs Pollex Slide, hit of the summer?
Given the success of the Crocs Pollex Clog range, this slide already seems poised to be another major success for both partners. Featuring a design similar to his previous approach, Salehe carries over his fingerprint-shaped grooves, connecting the slide to past collaborations.
Additionally, the creative designer debuts his first slide in a vibrant orange, enhancing a construction made entirely from EVA foam. Balancing functionality and aesthetics, Salehe refines his slide with subtle co-branding. Other colorways may also expand this new range, as a Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Slide "Burgundy" is already in the works.
The Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Slide "Citrus Milk" is set to release on May 25, 2023 on the Beaspunge website and likely on Crocs in the following days. Note that Salehe has not yet revealed the price of his slide.
