StockX breaks away from ten years of deadstock model. The online platform, long limited to verified new sneakers, is now opening its doors to secondhand sneakers and vintage with StockX Listings, revealed on June 24. Since 2016, StockX has built itself on a strict promise: new, authenticated at market price. With Listings, the brand embraces a more open approach, competing with Vinted and eBay. The marketplace now welcomes worn sneakers, vintage pieces, and products that have never been listed in the main catalog.

For sellers, the mechanics differ from the traditional StockX marketplace. The integration of AI photo analysis speeds up the process, while seller identities are verified upfront. AI-driven photo analysis accelerates the listing process, each seller's identity is verified before publication, and seller fees are zero at launch. Authentication remains optional, and payment is held until delivery confirmation by the carrier. For buyers, product pages gather all listings of the same model, with the usual market data adapted for secondhand.
For now, Listings is reserved for buyers based in the United States, exclusively on the iOS app, with a selected group of sellers by invitation only. StockX mentions an arrival on Android and the web in the coming months, followed by an opening to the entire U.S. market, and then an international rollout. No date has been announced for France or Europe.
