A fully accomplished artist, rapper Travis Scott is today more than ever present within sneaker culture. Indeed, with his partnership with Nike, his name has been placed on legendary silhouettes from the Swoosh brand and Jumpman. Whether it's the Air Force 1, the Air Max 1, the Air Jordan 1 High, or the Air Jordan 6, La Flame has managed to impose his avant-garde vision and successfully associated his Cactus Jack label with the brand.
While many Jordan models have passed through Travis Scott's hands, the AJ1 now generates multiple variations. Indeed, between the high-top and low-top silhouettes, the Astroworld rapper has brilliantly taken ownership of Peter Moore's designs.
And following his lengthy absence, it seems the artist took advantage of this collaboration with Nike to create a series of pairs on the low-top, potentially culminating with the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low OG SP WMNS "Olive". So, is this the last Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 silhouette?
A resounding success
In the span of just a few years, the Houston-born rapper has become one of the most important collaborators for the Swoosh brand, and the excitement around both partners has reached a fever pitch. With a Cactus Jack vision, the artist first turned his attention to the Air Jordan 4 to celebrate the glorious past of American football in Houston, which earned him instant success.

Subsequently, his work on the Air Jordan 1 High played a massive role in his conquest of the sneaker world. Indeed, he delivered a Fragment x Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 High OG SP "Military Blue" followed by a Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Retro High "Cactus Jack", both of which established themselves as iconic silhouettes in their own right.
And it seemed obvious that his next collaboration with Jordan would center around the Air Jordan 1 Low. Having made its debut in 1985 as the first low-top silhouette developed for the iconic number 23 of the Chicago Bulls, Michael Jordan, Travis Scott's vision was first revealed on the feet of his daughter Stormi and quickly sparked the interest of sneaker enthusiasts thanks to its colorway and premium finish.

A hyped model but still somewhat lesser compared to the high version, the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low "Reverse Mocha" nevertheless received excitement on par with its predecessors and was a long-awaited release for sneaker enthusiasts.
The emergence of new colorways
During Nike's recent quarterly earnings call for the first quarter of fiscal year 2023, the company's president and CEO, John Donahoe, announced that the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low OG "Reverse Mocha" draw had broken a record on Nike's SNKRS app for the most member entries. Indeed, Donahoe confirmed that a total of 3.8 million entries had been submitted for the pair on July 21st.
An absolute record for the Swoosh brand, which acknowledged it could not distinguish bot entries from authentic entries.
And while this silhouette allowed the rapper to make a blazing comeback, it wasn't long before he teased a "Black Phantom" colorway that would, once again, dress the AJ1 Low. Indeed, Travis Scott and Jordan seem to want to ride the success of the Reverse Mocha by unveiling an entirely dark low-top delineated by white contrast stitching.

However, this model has started to exasperate many sneakerheads, as the silhouette planned for this winter is deemed redundant and lacking in originality. And while its hype doesn't excite the sneaker game, the rapper once again teased on his feet a Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low "Olive" during a performance at the Rolling Loud Miami festival.
Announced as a women's exclusive, it reflects the rapper's label but offers a composition close to the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 High OG "Reverse Mocha," nearly identical in fact.
Indeed, this Air Jordan 1 Low draws inspiration from the classic Air Jordan 6 that La Flame launched in 2019. This interpretation features an official colorway of Sail, University Red, Black, and Medium Olive, with a black suede upper paired with white leather overlays. Olive accents are then added to the traditional reversed Swoosh as well as the lacing system. Cactus Jack branding appears on the tongues and insoles, while a creamy sail rubber midsole and olive outsole are placed underneath to complete the design.
While pleasant to look at, this Olive finish brings little novelty to the existing catalog. Indeed, it reprises a colorway similar to its predecessor. The difference lies mainly in the upper, which features a black leather base with the reversed olive Swoosh.

Some feel that this new colorway is one too many. Others welcome the silhouette with optimism since it will be a new pair signed La Flame x Jordan scheduled for March 25th.
And rumors are spreading within sneaker culture that this will be the last colorway on the Jordan low-top. While nothing has been confirmed by the Swoosh brand or the rapper himself regarding the end of this collaboration on the Jordan 1, it could be consistent given the number of colorways that have been released over the past year. What is certain is that the Astroworld rapper will be well present next year with this latest silhouette.
