In the midst of announcing his "Circus Maximus Tour" for his new album Utopia released on July 27th, La Flame unveils a new Nike model on Instagram, following the mysterious Air Jordan "Cut The Check"!
A Nike Air Zoom Spiridon 16 reworked by Cactus Jack!
While Jacques Webster's love for iconic swoosh models was well known, no one expected to see a reworked edition of the Nike Air Zoom Spiridon from 1997. Designed by Christian Tresser, the father of the Air Max 97, it was one of the first models featuring a Zoom Air sole unit. Travis Scott thus joins the exclusive club of collaborators who had the opportunity to rework this 90s classic, alongside Stash in 2017 and Parra in 2018.
Nicknamed the Nike Sharkidon by the sneaker community thanks to the serrated detail on the sole, it features a beige mesh base enhanced by white leather panels across the upper. A brown swoosh, matching the midsole, completes the look. An effective color scheme reminiscent of the 2022 Reverse Mocha edition. With its cream laces, the lowtop features a transparent front strap reminiscent of the iconic Air Trainer 1 that Travis has already worked on.
For now, no release date has been announced by Nike or Travis Scott. We could hope for a release next summer (2024) as a Shock Drop via SNKRS during a "Circus Maximus" tour concert, similar to 2021 during the Astroworld Festival with the two Air Max 1s: Baroque Brown and Saturn Gold.
