Most sneaker fans tried to cop the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low WMNS "Medium Olive" on April 26, whether to wear, to resell or simply to add to their collection, since it is the last Air Jordan 1 Low from the Travis Scott Nike partnership.
However, while the drop of this final lowtop has passed, the collaboration between the rapper and the Swoosh is far from over! At the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Miami, Travis Scott was spotted wearing what could be the next Nike Travis Scott shoe. It's a pair of Nike Mac Attack, a model set to make its grand return nearly 40 years after its creation! Following the success of the Air Force 1, Air Max 1, Air Jordan 1 High and Air Jordan 6, the artist and founder of the Cactus Jack label will likely succeed in bringing this retro model, originally designed for tennis, back into the spotlight.
A Closer Look at the Travis Scott x Nike Mac Attack
For the past two years, we've seen LeBron James and Travis Scott wearing this forgotten model, likely to reintroduce it into the streetwear world! Originally created in 1984 for tennis player John McEnroe, one of the greatest players in history, the Nike Mac Attack has plenty of appeal with its retro look.
It was during a show at Miami's E11even club that the Houston rapper debuted this new version of the Nike Mac Attack. Very close to the OG model, the notable difference is obviously the reversed swoosh, consistent with his other iterations with Nike. The pair stands out in a grey and black colorway, with a mix of mesh and smooth leather, along with a checkerboard pattern featuring branding on the tongue. This model pulled straight from the archives uses the exact same design language as the one that surfaced decades ago. However, we don't have any additional information at this time to confirm or deny the release of this collaboration.
One thing is certain: the Nike Mac Attack will indeed make its grand return in 2023! The three colorways of the Social Status x Nike Mac Attack collaboration should be available soon, followed by the reissue of the OG model, and perhaps this new Travis Scott x Nike Mac Attack partnership.

UPDATE DECEMBER 11, 2023:
Travis Scott vs John McEnroe: Real Clash or American-Style PR Stunt?
On Saturday, December 9, the sneaker world woke up to a surprise! A heated video call secretly filmed between John McEnroe, Travis Scott and Nike's teams leaked on social media. The tennis legend is seen visibly frustrated with La Flame. The reason? The name given to Cactus Jack's upcoming Nike Mac Attack collaboration expected on December 19, 2023. McEnroe proposed that the creative teams name the pair "Cactus Mac" (referencing his name), but Travis retorted that it was a terrible idea and that the name sounded like a burger at McDonald's (he certainly knows a thing or two about that). Offended, McEnroe declared that it was unfair since he was part of the Nike team before Travis was even born, and left the video call.
The next day, John McEnroe was spotted on celebrity outfit account @thepeoplegallery, run by Maurice Kamara. The retired tennis player was wearing a Cactus Jack x Nike Mac Attack with "Jack" crossed out to make way for "Mac," along with a matching "Cactus Mac" t-shirt.
That was all Travis Scott needed. He responded a few hours later by tagging his signature smiley on McEnroe's commemorative plaque at the Nike Hall Of Fame at Beaverton headquarters in Oregon!
A good-natured rivalry that's steadily building anticipation for the reversed-swoosh pair expected on December 19, 2023 on SNKRS!
